Daily Walk and Breast Cancer

According to a new study, walking for two hours daily can significantly reduce breast cancer risk in postmenopausal women. The MARIE study, involving more than 10,000 women, showed that the risk of developing breast cancer after menopause was lower by about a third in women who were physically most active.

Medical researchers also believe that physical exercise help reduce the risk of cancer through hormonal mechanisms instead of merely by a reduction of body fat or other changes in physical constitution. The study results noted that activities such as gardening, cycling or walking to the shops can bring similar benefits.
